Story

Stress-free shopping

For anyone looking to get the most out of their personal style or seeking styling inspiration and tips, OUTFITTERY offers a personalized styling service. Based on a style quiz, real stylists curate individual outfits from over 100 fashion brands for their customers, who can then try on the styles at home at their leisure.

Goal

Leverage smart synergies to generate attention

OUTFITTERY has long relied on traditional TV spots. To stand out from the crowd of commercials while keeping up with the trend of creating social-style TV ads, we leveraged synergies by adapting existing UGC material for TV. This not only saves on production costs but also feels much more authentic than a high-gloss commercial, effectively capturing attention.

Process

Solution

Adaptation of existing material in compliance with TV guidelines

We have been working closely with OUTFITTERY since 2022, creating UGC content for the brand that reaches a broad target audience across Meta platforms and TikTok. In contrast, the 20-second TV spot was specifically aimed at a male target group aged 25 to 45, with a focus on seasonal winter outfits.
‍
Drawing on their existing TV experience, OUTFITTERY provided a comprehensive brief that included voice-overs and scripts; additional layouts, structures, and content were developed collaboratively.
‍
Using these guidelines, we identified the most suitable video material from the existing UGC library. We took into account the creators and their performance on Meta platforms, selected standout looks, and chose shots that appeared particularly dynamic due to poses, expressions, and variety, then created a rough cut of the spot with cool transitions and music.
‍
During the editing process, we ensured that the visuals harmonized with the voice-over. This professional voice-over was provided by OUTFITTERY, integrated into the final spot, and subsequently delivered to the brand's media agency.

UGC-inspired TV spots: A new success formula for effective advertising

Whether it's a smartphone-shot UGC TV spot or a traditional commercial incorporating UGC elements, social-inspired advertising resonates well with viewers and offers significant opportunities for companies. Existing UGC material may require post-production to meet the technical requirements of TV broadcasting. Therefore, it is crucial to coordinate the technical setup in advance to address challenges such as equipment and color grading.
‍
Based on these insights, we are working with OUTFITTERY to plan a new TV spot designed to appeal to unisex audiences, women, and men across different countries.

"We've been working with Mawave for a while now and rely on their UGC expertise. Taking the UGC approach to TV was a brand new step into uncharted territory, which we successfully took together."
